چکیده
Much of the blame for failed attempts to replicate reports scientific findings has been placed on ubiquitous and persistent misinterpretations p value. An increasingly popular solution is transform a two-sided value lower bound Bayes factor. Another interpret one-sided as an approximate posterior probability. Combining two solutions results in confidence intervals that are calibrated by estimate probability null hypothesis true. The combination also provides point covered interval at every level confidence. Finally, generates hypothesis. In special case 50% prior simple factor, about (1 – abs(2.7 ln p)) + 2 p) small p. calibrations intervals, estimates, values proposed empirical framework without requiring multiple comparisons.

Testing a Point Null Hypothesis against One-Sided for Non Regular and Exponential Families: The Reconcilability Condition to P-values and Posterior Probability
In this paper, the reconcilability between the P-value and the posterior probability in testing a point null hypothesis against the one-sided hypothesis is considered. Two essential families, non regular and exponential family of distributions, are studied. It was shown in a non regular family of distributions; in some cases, it is possible to find a prior distribution function under which P-va...
متن کاملBayesian point null hypothesis testing via the posterior likelihood ratio
Neyman-Pearson or frequentist inference and Bayes inference are most clearly differentiated by their approaches to point null hypothesis testing. With very large samples, the frequentist and Bayesian conclusions from a classical test of significance for a point null hypothesis can be contradictory, with a small frequentist P -value casting serious doubt on the null hypothesis, but a large Bayes...
متن کاملNull hypothesis significance testing: a short tutorial
Although thoroughly criticized, null hypothesis significance testing (NHST) remains the statistical method of choice used to provide evidence for an effect, in biological, biomedical and social sciences. In this short tutorial, I first summarize the concepts behind the method, distinguishing test of significance (Fisher) and test of acceptance (Newman-Pearson) and point to common interpretation...
متن کاملPersistent Misconceptions concerning Null Hypothesis Significance Testing
ABTRACT The Null Hypothesis Significance Test is a popular testing procedure used mainly in the social sciences and occasionally in the natural sciences. The procedure has been criticized on several grounds. Firstly, opponents have attacked the procedure itself, claiming that it either does not tell the researcher what he or she wants to know; and/or that the procedure is not logically valid. S...
